Gee, what can I do this weekend? I know! Ask grum!

The other week I found myself in one of those secret hush-hush meetings. Things were said, deals were made, papers were shuffled around and various liquids were consumed. Once the meeting was over, I walked away with the keys to a rather popular website and a mission: to not break it.
As of last week, I’ve been given the opportunity to run Enjoy Perth!, a local website dedicated to telling the people of Perth where to go… for fun. The goal is to be Perth’s #1 gig guide. I always knew it was a popular site however after fiddling under the hood and noticing how many people actually visit the site I’m quite flabbergasted at the sheer numbers of hits we get. Right about the time I was given the role of co-head-dude of EP!, the site had undergone a re-launch. Originally as a blog it did it’s job well however as a gig guide/calendar it was sub-par and desperately needed a change. So I’ve been given an interesting task – keep the site full of content and ensure the new bits don’t fall over and explode into a billion little pieces.
Luckily for me, I haven’t had to throttle the developer’s necks once as the site has been plodding away quite nicely. Currently the new look design is being fiddled with and we’re getting advertisers on board as well. Which is great as I’m sure everyone is tired at looking at boring Google ads (although feel free to click on them if you see anything interesting – they pay for us to eat and breathe ;) ). The amount of content that gets injected into the site is huge, I simply have no idea how Simone was able to do it for all these years and still keep a full time job and a busy social calendar.
But so far, so good. Hopefully my contribution to the site will be well received and if everything goes according to plan, we’ll all be rich and famous in a year.
Or something like that.
So if you’re bored in Perth and have nothing to do, why not head on over to Enjoy Perth! and have a browse as there seems to always be something to do in this fine little city.
