Shots from Tim Burton’s ‘Alice in Wonderland’. Wow.

A couple of months ago I heard that Walt Disney Pictures were going to release a re-imagining of Alice in Wonderland. Pffft! I said! Off with their heads! There was no way Disney could bring the brilliance back better than the original.

Then I heard Tim Burton was involved.

Holy crap. This is gonna be good.

With Anne Hathaway playing the White Queen, Helena Bonham Carter playing the Red Queen, Johnny Depp as The Mad Hatter and finally Alan Rickman as The Caterpillar, Tim Burton’s adaptation is destined to be an awesome twist to the original classic. Newcomer Australian Mia Wasikowska plucked from HBO’s “In Treatment” plays Alice in what has now been revealed a sequel to the original tale.

Now images have surfaced on USA Today showing the live-action 3D animated adventure in a glorious new light.

Alice in Wonderland is slated for release in March 2010.

... and I just read on IMDB that it is based on the game too?!
  • not exactly. Wes Craven WAS going to do a movie based on American McGee's Alice with Dimension films. This fell over in the last few months. Probably cos Disney had a bigger budget and comparisons between the two movies would have destroyed Wes Craven's version.
  • Oh, I read the wrong IMDB link. D'oh!
  • whoops. ignore the end bit. Pasted it in from another blog post.
