Are you an Aussie Beauty or Geek?
Sometime over a month ago someone sent me an eMail telling me that a reality TV show was looking for nerds and that I should sign up. At the time the the name of the show was shrouded in secrecy however the first thing that came up in my mind was “Beauty and the Geek”.
Today the announcement came through confirming my guess – Channel 7 has scored the rights to the Australian version of the show.
For those who aren’t familiar with the show, the concept is simple – a group of beauties (highly attractive women who have gone though life relying on their looks) and a group of geeks (the nerdiest guys you will ever meet with no social skills to know off) are paired together in groups to compete for the grand prize of $250,000. Produced by Ashton Kitcher, its tag line is “The Ultimate Social Experiment” which takes a curious look into the social interaction between the two groups as they are forced to live together under one roof during the competition.
Running over 5 seasons in the states, I have been a huge fan of the show and I’m absolutely ecstatic that sitting in my inbox this morning was a press release confirming that the earlier “search for nerds” announcement was a preliminary geek scout for the upcoming Channel 7 edition of Beauty and the Geek.

For those who know me, I’m a nutter when it comes to reality TV and have auditioned for plenty of shows – even getting rather high in the audition process for Big Brother, but alas nobody picked me for reasons unknown. Sure I’m not exactly the nerd stereotype that they’reafter however I’ll be there on audition day hamming it up for my chance.
